“ Those people who develop the ability to continuously acquire new and better forms of knowledge that they can apply to their work and to their lives will be the movers and shakers in our society for the indefinite future.” ― Brian TracyAdult learning theory and practice
In my opinion Learning may be intense at some times, but it needs to be constant at all times. Unfortunately, many people stop learning once they graduate from high school, college, or university. They never read a book or learn another useful skill again. I believe that everyone should be lifelong learners. It makes for a more interesting and enjoyable life. Furthermore, it enhances well-being. We all know by our classes; about What is lifelong learning? It is self-motivated, voluntary, and continuous learning throughout one’s life—an ongoing quest for knowledge and skills, whether or not a person is in an educational setting. We’re all born with natural talents and abilities, but that doesn’t mean we’re masters of those talents the first time we try. Lifelong learners are always honing their skills and learning new ones. So we have to develop our skills everytime. It is the main goal of lifelong learning.
Lifelong learning can be socially invigorating while also improving memory and cognitive abilities. Activities such as volunteering can be a learning experience while making the life of the volunteer meaningful and at the same time offering benefits to society. Lifelong learning allows us to continue to use our minds, develop our skills, abilities and learn by other’s experiences and communicate with others and share our knowledge together.
For example of me , By studying in Taiwan, I can meet students from different countries, different cultures and it gives me the strength to share what I know as well as learn from them. World is changing very fast. Issues that we face are very complex. So we need to be able to adapt this fast changes and make complex solutions. When I was studying and working, I used to lead and participate discussion groups, team works. By sharing my and other’s knowledge, experiences and working with different kind of people, I saw my leadership skill, and knowledge were improving in reality and I learnt so many things from others. And Now I still want to learn more and grow more to solve bigger problems. Changing my environment and studying in different country is very necessary to see my adaptive skill as well as improve my leadership skill.
Finally, Once you begin a quest toward lifelong learning, you probably won’t stop. The more you know, the more you’ll want to know.
